As a Director at SC&H, Pam Chelden leads the Accounting Solutions practice. In this role, Pam provides outsourced controller and CFO-level services to emerging growth and mid-market organizations. Working both hand-in-hand with clients, and behind the scenes, Pam supports clients in any way possible, whether that’s through strategic planning, fundraising, refinancing, cash flow forecasting, or budgeting.
Her number one goal is to ensure the team she leads has the right tools to meet and support the needs of the clients they serve – and with such a wide variety of cloud based solutions available – it’s becoming more seamless than ever to provide easy access to financial data, enabling faster decision making.
Pam views the Accounting Solutions practice as an extension of a client’s internal accounting team. It is her goal to listen and understand the needs of a client first, then decide on a plan of action – this way, Pam and her team can execute a deliberate and customized plan for each client.
As a former CFO with more than 20 years of accounting experience, Pam possesses a wealth of knowledge across multiple industries, including logistics, education technology, private equity, manufacturing, retail, and distribution; and has overseen several mergers and acquisitions.
Pam enjoys learning about a business, and works to understand the growth drivers of the organization to propel it to greater success. She is a firm believer that accounting should support the business and business decisions, but not get in the way of the business.
A graduate of University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, Pam earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Accounting. She is also a CPA, licensed by the state of North Carolina.
A mother of two active boys who like to play soccer, basketball, and baseball, Pam’s greatest joy is watching her kids develop their passion for sports. Pam is also an avid skier, loves playing doubles tennis, and volunteers as much as she can at Seventh District Elementary School.
