As a Director in our Contract Compliance Audit Services practice, Patrick has a few key professional motivations with all of this clients: increasing third-party transparency, optimizing supplier relationships, and improving governance.
He works with Fortune 100 companies to evaluate contract compliance in categories such as marketing and advertising, contingent staffing, facilities management, construction, computer hardware/software, MRO, security, events, and office supplies. Projects under his leadership have resulted in client savings of over $150 million in addition to practical control developments, valuable process improvements, enhanced earnings, and proven cost-savings initiatives.
When he finds himself away from the office, Patrick likes to exercise — he loves long-distance running and hiking — and watch sports, though watching the Orioles he considers to be an exercise in and of itself.
A majority of Patrick’s work involves partnering with global procurement groups or internal audit departments to develop transparency and insights into the procure-to-pay process. He works across all industry segments and serves as the primary client relationship manager. Working with his client’s suppliers has exposed Patrick to business models in very diverse industries — from manufacturing and facilities management to construction and security — which has enabled him to learn from operations processes from around the world.
He is very passionate about helping to influence the operations and cultures of global enterprises, and one of this greatest professional achievements was being able to hand over a $1M recovery check to his client.
Patrick is an avid fan of Dan Carlin’s “Hardcore History” podcast — the focus of each episode varies widely from show to show but they are generally centered on specific historical events and are discussed in a “theater of the mind” style. He is also a Financial Literacy Coach/Trainer for Baltimore C.A.S.H., a non-profit organization promoting economic advancement for financially-challenged individuals and families, and volunteers with Ronald McDonald House of Maryland.
Patrick has a B.S. in Accounting from Towson University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Fraud Examiner. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
Patrick lives in Phoenix, Md., with his family.
