Sandy Hart, CPA

Senior Controller

Sandy Hart is an Outsourced Controller at SC&H with more than 15 years of accounting experience. She joined the firm in 2008 and provided audit and personal property taxation consulting services before pivoting to our Accounting Solutions practice in January of 2017.

Offering outsourced accounting, payroll, and advisory services, Sandy’s passion and expertise are in working with clients on grant tracking and reporting. She loves helping leaders and companies succeed at all stages of the business lifecycle and feels honored to support their accelerated growth and celebrate the achievement of each milestone. Energized by the startup culture, Sandy focuses a lot of her work within the SaaS, bio and life sciences, and non-profit spaces. Internally, she goes above and beyond to foster individual and team growth through the expansion of professional knowledge and accounting capabilities.

Sandy is a licensed CPA through the Maryland State Board of Public Accountancy. She graduated with distinction in university honors from New Mexico State University with a bachelor’s degree (2004) and master’s degree (2005) in accounting and minor in management. Prior to joining SC&H, Sandy worked as an auditor for KPMG, where she began her career. Sandy is also an adjunct faculty at the Maryland Institute College of Art’s (MICA) Master of Professional Studies (MPS) Business of Art and Design program where she teaches the Finances course to creative entrepreneurs.

Outside of work, Sandy is a mom to two active kids and a house full of rescued pets. She’s a Boy Scout troop committee member and a Girl Scout troop co-leader and, even as an adult, applies the scout way to her life and work—be prepared, be ready, and help others. Born and raised in New Mexico, she loves all Mexican, New Mexican, and TexMex cuisine and she’s working towards fluency in Spanish.
