Stan Mastil, CFF, CPA

Principal

Stan Mastil is a Principal in SC&H’s Corporate Restructuring practice, bringing 25+ years of experience working with distressed companies and their stakeholders as a nationally ranked turnaround professional. He specializes in complex bankruptcy and turnaround matters, including Chapter 11 reorganizations and liquidations and Chapter 7 liquidations. Throughout his career, he has advised a wide range of stakeholders—including debtors, trustees, unsecured creditors’ committees, and court-appointed examiners—serving in roles such as Chief Restructuring Officer, Liquidating Trustee, Financial Advisor, and Plan Administrator. He is also frequently involved in alternative or out-of-court restructuring and liquidation matters.

His experience spans industries such as retail, gaming, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, healthcare, food and beverage, banking, and construction. He has testified in U.S. Bankruptcy Courts in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and has led or contributed to numerous high-profile engagements. In addition, he has deep expertise in litigation support and forensic investigations, including cases involving fraud, money laundering, and financial record reconstruction. He has also testified as an expert in a forensic matter in the District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Stan is passionate about helping clients solve complex financial challenges with clarity, urgency, and integrity. Known for his practical, hands-on approach, he ensures stakeholder alignment and develops actionable solutions. His work has earned national recognition, including multiple Turnaround Management Association and Turnaround Atlas awards.

He holds a B.S. in Finance with a concentration in Accounting from Penn State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Pennsylvania. He is also Certified in Financial Forensics.

Outside of work, Stan is dedicated to giving back. He serves as the TMA Global Finance Committee Chair and an alternate to the Global Board of Trustees and is the immediate past chair of the TMA Philadelphia/Wilmington Chapter Board of Directors. In his community, he is Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Volunteers of America Delaware Valley. A devoted baseball coach, he has led his son’s travel team for the past seven years and is a proud “4 for 4” Philadelphia sports fan.
