Founded in 2002 in Atlanta, GA, West Physics has grown from a single client to serving over 2,000 healthcare systems, hospitals, imaging centers, and physician practices nationwide. The company is one of the leading providers of diagnostic medical and health physics consulting services in the United States, specializing in radiation dose optimization, accreditation services, annual physics testing, regulatory consulting services, shielding services, radiations safety officer (RSO) services, MRI safety services, and training services.
The owner and founder of West Physics was looking for an advisor to help him assess strategic options, and SC&H was a logical partner due to our extensive experience advising founder-owned businesses as well as in the medical physics industry.
SC&H initiated negotiations with a private equity firm who had previously communicated interest in the industry, LNC Partners (Reston, VA). SC&H managed negotiations with the buyer from initial contact to closing and ensured an efficient diligence process by preparing with the client in advance of the process. LNC Partners’ familiarity with the industry made for a smooth diligence and closing process, and most importantly allows them to be true partners in the future growth of West Physics. The transaction represented the third successful engagement in the medical physics industry for SC&H.
